bareMinerals RareMinerals Blemish Therapy Review

bareMinerals RareMinerals Blemish Therapy

I want to do a quick bareMinerals RareMinerals Blemish Therapy review today since it is a product I have used many times in the past and have had great experiences with. While bareMinerals Blemish Therapy is not makeup for acne, it provides a little bit of coverage while helping to heal blemishes, so I have even used it at night to tone down some redness and help heal a blemish. This is a product that does not contain the usual salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide of other acne treatments. Instead, it uses Bare Escentuals’ RareMinerals Complex which contains natural sulfur, a mineral that is both soothing and has some antibacterial properties.

A Guide to Makeup for Acne: Part 1

There are many products on the market that advertise themselves as makeup for acne.  In this article, we will look at what exactly that means and what these products contain.

There are two categories of makeup that might be considered safe for acne:
1. Medicated acne makeup
2. Makeup for acne prone skin

A Guide to Makeup for Acne: Part 2

In A Guide to Makeup for Acne: Part 1, I talked about the two different categories of makeup for acne prone skin and the characteristics of medicated acne makeup.  In Part 2, I discuss the second category, non-medicated makeup that is safe for acne prone skin.

Non-Medicated Makeup
Makeup for acne that does not contain specific acne treatment ingredients are considered safe for acne if they have the following qualities:

  • Oil-free
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Fragrance-free
  • Hypoallergenic

It is always safer to choose an oil-free product since it is difficult to figure out from ingredient labels what is an oil or not, considering all the chemical compounds in the lists.

bareMinerals SPF 25 Mineral Veil Review

Description:

This is Bare Escentuals’ new version of Mineral Veil, now with SPF 25.  It has all the qualities of the original mineral veil, but with sun protection.  As with the original version, the SPF 25 Mineral Veil is designed to give a finishing touch to makeup by softening lines, minimizing pores, eliminating shine, and keeping makeup fresh all day.  The SPF version comes in a sheer powder and a tinted version.  The non-SPF version also comes in a hydrating and an illuminating version.

Summary of Reviews:

The new bareMinerals SPF 25 Mineral Veil is by far my favorite product in Bare Escentuals bareMineral line.  I have used it for years and I don’t just reserve it for use with the bareMinerals foundation.  It works well over any foundation or even just over concealer.
